Custom CRM Screen Pop up - CRM Integration

Custom CRM Screen Pop up

Requirements:

  • The CRM need to have the capability to provide a URL that can receive a parameter in this case a Caller ID Number.

Functionality:

Once logged in to the PBX portal.

At the moment a call is received while you're logged in. at the moment you answer the call. The PBX will send the Number to the specified URL.

The CRM will receive the Caller ID Number and search for it. And the results will show up on the Browser.

For Example:

Using Google as an example:

Google's default search URL is:

https://www.google.com/#q=

Which means that if a person with the number 7862815829 calls.

The result will open a Browser window like this one.

The resulting URL would look like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=7862815829&cad=h

The number that called was: 7862815829

Salesforce Example:

Salesforce search URL normally looks like this:

https://na31.salesforce.com/_ui/search/ui/UnifiedSearchResults?searchType=2&sen=a00&sen=001&sen=a0b&sen=a01&sen=a1B&sen=01t&sen=003&sen=005&sen=006&str=

Which in this case will result in adding the 7862815829 to the number and this will produce a search for the number in Salesforce.

Considerations

In cases like Salesforce or any other CRM the user must be logged in in the PBX portal and on Salesforce. And the CRM needs to have a searchable URL that can be used externally.

Popups need to be allowed by the browser.

Search needs to be flexible so if a carrier sends the caller ID like this +17862815829 or 7862815829 it should throw the same result.
